ARTPER
Research Group (peripheral arteriopathy)
The objective of the ARTPER study is to deepen the knowledge of peripheral arterial disease: epidemiology (prevalence, incidence), RISK factors, diagnostic and prognostic factors, and related to the appearance of vascular events (morbidity and mortality). In 2006, the multicenter cohort was recruited (3786 people> 49 years) with the objective of knowing the prevalence of peripheral arterial disease. In 2011, a second cut was made to determine the incidence of peripheral arterial disease. From 2006 to the present (2018) is doing 1 annual monitoring of the cohort with the objective of knowing the vascular events that are occurring (myocardial infarctions, chest angina, stroke, transient ischemic attacks, aortic aneurysm abdominal and vascular interventions) and to be able to determine if peripheral arterial disease is a predictor of cardiovascular and cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. The objective of the central research is to contribute to the knowledge of the natural history of peripheral arterial disease, through knowledge of the prevalence and incidence of peripheral arterial disease, as well as the morbidity and mortality associated with peripheral arterial disease.
